FNB Namibia recently launched a data-free app to help Namibians reduce cellular-data costs and still allow their clients to be able to bank from anywhere and at anytime.

FNB and partnered with MTC and proudly announced their app has been zero rated, which means customers will not need data or airtime to do their banking on their phone via the FNB App. This will make banking much more of a convenience for the bank’s clients.

The apps users can make Geo Payments; make use of eWallet function; make payments (including once-off payments); transfer funds between their accounts; view detailed balances and transaction history; add, edit or delete recipients; send money to any Namibian cell phone number; transfer money from your eWallet to your transactional account; buy prepaid electricity and airtime; and receive inContact messages.

FNB Namibia CEO, Sarel van Zyl expressed his delight with the app. He said they are proud to once again provide a solution for Namibians that allows them to bank from anywhere at any time. He said their mission is to make banking inclusive, affordable and convenient for everyone.

“Since the launch of our FNB banking App in 2013, the App has been actively used and downloaded by Namibians and we are proud that this innovation has become key in offering our customers an alternative banking solution where customers can transact, borrow, invest, and communicate – now at no data cost at all,” Sarel said.
