Pick n Pay (PnP) Namibia recently handed over a cheque worth N$50 000 to the overall winner of their KICK-OFF campaign.
During the campaign PnP provided massive saving to its customers and also gave away prizes to 168 customers, this included appliances such as pressure cookers, manual mirror microwave ovens, fridges, front loader washing machines, boom boxes, smart phones and mist fans.
Haliana Thomas from Ondangwa was however the lucky winner of the grand prize of N$50 000. The loyal PnP customer was ecstatic when she received the big cheque.
“I am so excited and blessed to walk away as the overall winner of this campaign. This just happened at the right time, and will make such a significant difference in me and my family’s lives.” Haliana said.
What is even more special about the PnP Namibia ‘KICK-OFF’ campaign was its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) contribution, through which selected primary schools across the country enjoyed support in sports development.
According to PnP Namibia public relations coordinator, Rhodda Lambetr, each PnP store manager selected a school soccer team in their communities to which they sponsored a full kit, balls and gaol posts. A total of 21 teams from across the country were recipients of the sponsor.
“The Kick-Off competition is but one of the ways we live our purpose ‘Creating a future, enhancing life’. Having the capacity to invest in youth development is such a privilege, and seeing the gratitude on the learners’ faces is heartening. We honor the teachers for their efforts in building our future leaders. These learners are the upcoming stars that will take Namibian soccer to international standards,” said Rhodda.

“While PnP Namibia is no exception in the daily fight to keep head-above-water during the current harsh economic times, we remain committed to providing our customers with great experiences and enduring impact. The ‘KICK-OFF’ campaign was also part of our contribution to uplifting the lives of our customers and communities in which we operate – a sentiment PnP Namibia is very passionate about, and directly speaks to the group purpose of ‘Creating a future, enhancing life,” said PnP Namibia marketing manager, Victoria Möller.
