DStv will bring a few new shows and movies to your TV this week. Multichoice aims to give their subscribers the best possible entertainment.

Subscribers can expect everything from comedy to sci-fi this week. The first to première is Manifest.

In a somewhat bizarre turn of events; Manifest is about a time when Montego Air Flight 828 landed safely after a turbulent but routine flight. But in the span of those few hours, the world had aged five years -- and after mourning their loss, their friends, families and colleagues had given up hope and moved on.

Showmax also has a new series title AP Bio, which sees a failed philosophy scholar become a biology teacher. But instead of teaching science, he uses his honour-roll students to get back at the people in his life who have wronged him.

Bringing it home, is the white-knuckle finale of the phenomenal local series, Lockdown. Minister Mazibuko holds a press conference about the raid and lockdown. Phindi unravels Grace's cryptic clues. If you are yet to get into this phenomenal local drama, binge from the beginning on Showmax before the 2nd of October!

Arendsvlei: Monday, 1 October, kykNET & Kie

This brand-new telenovela, is the first to premiere on kykNET & Kie will broadcast three days a week from Monday to Wednesday. Arendsvlei is a town on the Cape Flats, the high school is at the centre of everything that happens. The principal, Beatrice, played by Jolene Martin, established the school with the money she inherited from her father, in order to guarantee the children of the community an affordable, quality education. But not everyone in Arendsvlei has such noble intentions. This show promises love, guilt, scandal, drama love triangles, passion, dreams, family drama and murder.

Tiaan Onthou: Monday, 1 October, kykNET

Tiaan Langenegger, winner of Kokkedoor 1, presenter of Makietie and Koekedoor judge, is back with a nostalgic trip through food jewels of yester year. Tiaan pays a visit to the best recipe keepers in the country – the grandmothers and grandfathers that can bake the best milk tart, mince pies, curry and rice, as well as other dishes we grew up with. Tiaan’s guests show him their traditional recipes and then it’s Tiaan’s turn to give a new spin on the recipe that will blow your mind. Tiaan Onthou will not only get you cooking and baking, but will evoke memories of Sunday lunches and smells that made Grannie’s kitchen so special.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle: Sunday, 30 September, M-Net

"The hysterical new Jumanji movie starring Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan and Jack Black. The film is a sequel to the original Robin Williams film, but stands on its own, meaning viewers don't have to have seen the original to enjoy this film. The story begins with a surprising new entry point into the world of the game and hysterical consequences to the characters' selection of their avatars - Jack Black's character especially has a lot to get used to! This is a rollicking feel-good adventure with dire threats, emotional realizations and laugh out loud moments! Look out for the subtle homage to Robin Williams in the scene where Alan Parish takes the newly trapped adventurers to his home.

The Greatest Showman: Saturday, 29 September, BoxOffice

This is the first original movie musical that a studio has greenlit in 23 years. Hugh Jackman originally felt that the film only stood a one-in-three chance of ever being made but when, then unknown, now multi-award winners, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul were brought on to pull the soundtrack together, this is what sealed the film's success. This was also the first film for Director Michael Gracey, who had previously directed commercials and brought all the tricks of advertising in terms of look-books, artistic renderings, intricate storyboards and seven years of dedication to the production to ensure his and the film's success."

Together the pair will be able to showcase their African style and flair and get everyone in behind them to show that South Africans are world class dancers.

Forged in Fire: Monday, 1 October, History

The best bladed weapon makers in America go head to head building everything from Viking battle axes to Samurai swords to Indian claw daggers. The show shouldn’t need to come with a disclaimer, it looks pretty dangerous, right? Well one fan in Cohoes New York was so inspired that he decided to try his hand at forging a sword in his back yard and caused a fire that burned through 30 building and took firefighters six hours to extinguish. So, don't try any of this at home, rather enjoy the fifth season as a couch expert who know what a tang is!

Celebrity Undercover: Monday, 1 October, BBC Brit

Celebrity Undercover follows the journey of eight renowned stars as they go incognito to find undiscovered talent. Disguised as ordinary people, each celeb will meet aspiring up-and-coming stars, deserving fans and inspiring people. In series one, three-time Olympic gold medallist Gabby Douglas, Tony-winning Broadway star Idina Menzel, Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Seal and many more incredible celebrities will be disguised with some very clever prosthetic make up and wigs, as they prepare to meet and surprise some very talented people.
