Adonai reaches out to inmates

Adonai Trust recently started with hosting Money Map training session for close to 200 inmates at four correctional facilities across the country.

The first two-week session commenced in Walvis Bay on Monday, 17 and will conclude on Sunday, 30 September. Adonai Trust joined hands with Bank Windhoek to make the sessions a reality and they hope to change the lives of the inmates through the training.

Themed, ‘Your Journey to Financial Freedom’, the Money Map training covers a variety of topics that will educate the inmates on financial, spiritual and mental fitness. It will help them during their sentences and beyond. The trainings main purpose is the guide individual inmates to achieve a Biblical, joyful stress-free financial future.

Sanet Vermeulen, Adonai Trusts’s co-founder, expanded n the initiative, saying it the training developed when a team of like-minded individuals who are passionate about seeing Africans becoming financially free.

. It is based on the Money Map created by Crown Financial Ministries. In this version, the timeless principles of God's word concerning money can now resonate in the heart of the African farmer, entrepreneur, and parent. Although presented in an African setting, it can be used worldwide. This Money Map's clear financial goals are inspiring and the reality of the obstacles to reach them is challenging but attainable,” she said.

After the first session, three more seminars are scheduled to take place at the following correctional facilities:

• Divundu: Monday, 15 until Sunday, 21 October 2018

• Elizabeth Nempembe: Monday, 22 until Sunday, 28 October 2018

• Keetmanshoop: Monday, 12 until Sunday, 18 November 2018

Bank Windhoek’s Sponsorship and Events Coordinator, Suzette January, said that the Bank is delighted to have supported Adonai Trust with this initiative. “Participating inmates should grasp this opportunity and learn as much as they can during the sessions. We wish them the best for the future,” she said.

Adonai, Hebrew meaning for ‘God Is My Lord’, aims to educate nations to live the character of Christ by applying biblical principles, conduct business, career and finance matters faithfully and with integrity.

“The content of the Money Map is life-changing, especially when inmates implement it in their own lives, it is about more than just financial principles,” concluded Vermeulen.
